INDO Lighting supplied high lumen output PLLX LED lamp retrofits for replacement of 55W fluorescent lamps used within residential street lighting fittings.
The INDO PLLX lamp has been specially designed for street lighting applications, giving a high lumen output and a wide beam angle such that the resulting illumination on the road surface is uniform and of a level to meet lighting classes P4 through to P6 (or S class equivalents).
The installation demonstrated that there was no obvious difference in the illumination of the street when comparing the fluorescent technology with the LED lamp retrofit. The clean white light improved the street scene, allowing for a higher degree of colour recognition. Despite this the circuit wattage of each lantern was reduced from 62W (charge code 3300553000100) to 23W, a reduction of 63%.
Furthermore, the change results in significant maintenance savings, with lamp replacements due after a period of approximately 10 years, compared to approximately 2 years for the fluorescent alternative.
