For BCP Council, our ION Road luminaires light the footpaths, ramps and steps that lead down to the subway under the Holdenhurst Road roundabout in Bournemouth.
Each luminaire runs a 2,250 lumen package at 4000K using our OPUS2 light engine.
The lanterns dim through the night on a preset profile: full output until 8pm, 75 percent until midnight and 50 percent until 6am, then back to full output until they switch off in the morning. Each one also carries a NEMA socket, so a part-night dimming or central management control can be easily added at a later date.
ION Road uses our Direct Drive® technology, which removes the parts that wear out in a conventional LED luminaire. It weighs under 2 kg, so it reduces column loading, and has a 25-year design life.
