INDO produces one of Europe’s largest ranges of retrofit gear tray options, engineered to operate within heritage and street lighting assets across the public realm, including the heritage lanterns on York’s Grade II listed river bridges.
For this scheme, INDO supplied a gear tray sized and thermally tested for the existing York bridge listed heritage luminaires. The gear tray directly replaces the SON gear without changing the lantern itself, so the listed appearance is preserved and the authority gets a contemporary LED maintenance profile inside.
Heritage retrofit at this level is about four things: ease of retrofit, matching or exceeding optical performance, matching or exceeding IP protection (our light engines are IP66 by default), and the thermal performance within the luminaire. INDO’s gear tray range covers 300+ named heritage and street lantern types and is specified individually per project, with photometric and thermal verification ahead of supply.
