INDO LED luminaire Installation Common Fixes
If you’re installing or maintaining your luminaire and run into problems, here are some basic steps we recommend trying first to resolve many common problems. After following this guidance, if you are still having difficulty, please call our technical support line, direct on 02380 982039 or email info@indolighting.com
My luminaire has individual LEDs that are not operating
It is quite normal for some units not to utilise all LED positions. Multiple chip configurations are used for a range of photometry requirements with the same lenses.
If you still feel that an individual LED is erroneously out, please call us on 02380 982022 (opt 3) to double-check. If a full investigation is required, we will ask you to return the luminaire to us using our returns form.

My product has been supplied without a photocell
Don’t worry; this is not a fault!
The INDO photocell comes pre-installed and integrated, but it’s not the distinct part that many customers expect to find when they unbox the luminaire. Our built-in photocell is a tiny component; a precision light sensor that’s inconspicuously mounted directly on the PCB (printed circuit board) and not easily identified.
All the products listed below are available with the option of a built-in photocell. This option will be specified in your original order. The photocell is located on the circuit board, facing down at the street and, if specified, will operate automatically.
- AIR1
- AIR2
- RADIUS
- CHANCERY
- Gear Trays
- PLUE
- T5UE
Important! Please do not attempt to fit a secondary, external photocell if your units have the integrated cell option. Doing so will invalidate your warranty
If you’re unsure whether your product should have an integrated photocell or not, please call our technical support line on +44 (0)2380 982022 (opt 3) You will need your INDO order confirmation or quotation to hand.
My luminaire isn’t producing any light
Step 1 – Check the mains supply
Step 2 – Fully disconnect and reconnect the supply to check if the problem persists. For AIR1 units in particular, it’s important to make a point of double-checking the terminal blocks haven’t come apart and pressing together firmly to ensure a full, tight connection.
Step 3(a) – if your unit contains an integrated photocell: Check the lens area for visible obstructions or damage. If there are no obstructions or damage, cover the integrated photocell for 90 seconds and wait for the unit to light up
Step 3(b) – if there is a third party photocell: Change out the third party photocell and cover to check if the problem persists
Step 3(c) – if the unit is group-switched: Check the switching device is working as intended
Step 4 – If step 3 does not cause the lantern to light up, a full investigation will be required. Please return the luminaire to us using our returns form.

Step 2(c) – Or, if the unit is group switched: Check the switching device is working as intended
Step 3 – If step 2 does not return the unit to normal behaviour, a full investigation will be required. Please return the luminaire to us using our returns form.
