P109 Retrofit Gear Trays, London

INDO was asked to supply a retrofit product for the P109 to replace 7,000 units across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Lanterns were replaced on a one-for-one basis.  On site measurements were taken before and after installation by the INDO team, according to ILP technical standards and results were reported to the client.  The illumination measurements and on site photography demonstrated that the LED retrofit product provided a suitable upgrade allowing significant maintenance and energy savings to be made.  The street scene appears cleaner and safer; proven by the before and after photography which clearly demonstrate a change in colour temperature.  When visiting the site, there was no significant change in ambience; the colour is a neutral white and not overly cool.  During the second visit, a local resident came to ask what was happening.  When she was informed that the lighting had been upgraded and that light measurements were being taken, she said she “had not noticed”.  After a few moments of reflection, she said that it “looked better” and that she was able to “see further down the street!”

INDO has provided excellent service, products and technical back up to the highways department at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for over eight years… The Council has benefited from reduced energy and maintenance costs.
