INDO Gear Trays, Netherlands
Over 50% of Dutch municipality, Heerlen, is now lit with sustainable LED gear tray lighting from INDO
Through INDO’s exclusive distribution partner for the Netherlands, Saled, Heerlen – a city and municipality in the southeast of the region, is now benefitting from over 60% energy savings. And with a minimal upfront capital outlay. In early 2020, the municipality installed a large part of the public lighting network with new LED luminaires. This is the third time that Heerlen has worked with Saled. And now, over half of the municipality is lit with environmentally-friendly LED lighting. In addition, extra saving techniques have been applied to achieve even more savings on the energy bill.
Last time, the municipality opted for the PS-L lamp, as a replacement for the conventional PL-L lamps. This time, well over 500 INDO LED gear tray solutions were supplied for the Iridium luminaires, an older type of luminaire that is widely used for city and street lighting in the area. In addition, the municipality also benefits from a two-step dimming program to provide additional savings. This means the lighting is dimmed to 70% at 22:00, further reduced to 50% output at 00:00 then automatically returns to 100% at 06:00.
INDO Direct Drive technology
The INDO LED gear tray solution comprises Direct Drive technology. This means that the LED driver, the largest wear-out component, has been removed to significantly improve the reliability and life span of the fixtures. Long term maintenance of the lighting is no longer necessary and the lighting lasts up to 230,000 hours. Annual savings of up to 60% on the energy bill.
INDO LED Retrofit solution
Retrofit lighting is used when the luminaires are still in good condition. With this technique, only the interior is replaced and the rest of the fixture is retained for a much more cost effective solution. More than 70 luminaires are already suitable for the INDO LED gear tray range, so there is a good chance that there is a fit between the lighting and the current luminaire. In addition, the plate solution is easy to mount in various luminaires – often faster than installing a completely new fixture
